Silver Beach, Kurnell

Kurnell is a southern Sydney Suburb located approximately 7 minutes drive from Cronulla. Silver Beach is within walking distance of the whole Suburb (Kurnell). Dogs are allowed off leash between the third and fourth rock groynes at the western end of Silver Beach, in front of the Bonna Point reserve car park.  Silver Beach is a very popular dog spot with a large number and variety of dogs out for a play. With beautiful clear water and shallow water for some way out this is a great spot for your furry friend not only to socialise but to have a splash and paddle in the ocean.

Pros:

  • Extremely dog friendly, lots of dogs out for a play
  • Shallow water for some way out
  • Large variety of parking (car park and street parking)
  • Small calm waves
  • Facilities (toilets)
  • Not a crowded beach

Cons:

  • The sand is quite rough due to sticks, rocks and shells
  • There is no shade at the beach, bringing your own equipment for shade is recommended (umbrella/tent).
  • Not a patrolled beach
  • The road is not to far from the beach so keep an extra watch on your dog exploring
