East Corrimal Beach

Corrimal is a northern seaside suburb of Wollongong. Just a 50 minute drive from the southern suburbs of Sydney. With off leash access via Murray Road, East Corrimal Beach is an all-day off lead dog beach once past the lagoon. (Refer to below image) East Corrimal is the perfect beach if you are testing your dog off the lead for the first time as the beach is located far from any roads. It is a very large and spacious beach, not to mention a quiet beach also. This Beach is also great to practice your furry friend getting use to the water. Depending on the tide there is a lagoon that starts shallow and gradually gets deeper, great for throwing the ball in the lagoon for fetch and practice getting those paws wet. Before taking Ollie to the beach he was not a big fan of getting his paws wet, with lots of playing in the lagoon we now can’t keep him out of the big waves in the ocean. This beach isn’t just great for first timers, there are always dogs out for a play and is a great spot for dogs to socialise, run around and burn some treats off.

Pros:

  • Great Parking
  • Quiet Beach
  • Lagoon (great for swimming if your dog doesn’t like the ocean waves)
  • Lots of dogs out for a play
  • The beach is far from any roads
  • Shops less than 5 min drive

Cons:

  • No toilets
  • Not a patrolled beach
  • There is no shade at the beach, bringing your own equipment for shade is recommended (umbrella/tent).
